Vreeland, Ruth Ager
April 5, 2012

Ruth Ager Vreeland, beloved wife of the late Robert C. Vreeland, passed away on April 5, 2012.
She was the loving mother of Janet Sommese and Patricia Foege and the late Roberta Elizabeth; and dearest mother in law of John Sommese and Charles Foege. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty two great grand children.
Ruth and her loving husband Bob were formerly of Long Island, N.Y. and New Providence, N.J. also maintaining a summer home at Candlewood Lake, Conn. They retired to Venice, Fla. In 1973, Ruth and Bob's life revolved around providing a loving environment for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruth served as a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at Venice Regional Hospital and volunteered her time at local nursing homes. Both Ruth and her loving husband Bob were long time members of the Venice Presbyterian Church where Ruth served on several committees including the Prayer Shawl committee. In addition, she was a moderator for the Presbyterian women's circle and a faithful member of the Catherin Morton's Prayer group.
Ruth will be interred with her beloved husband Bob in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. There will be a memorial service at the Venice Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 26th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Farley Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
