Floyd Jamison, 82, of Sarasota, FL, husband of Margaret Richards Jamison, passed away July 15, 2013.
Born in Renfrew, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Floyd A. Jamison and the late Hazel Powell Jamison. Floyd joined the United States Navy where he retired after twenty years of service to his country. After his military career he worked as Assistant Facility Manager for National Railroad Passenger Service for twenty years and then retired to Sarasota, Florida with his loving wife Margaret.
He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Margaret Richards Jamison, of Sarasota; two daughters, Carol Juchnik, of Maine, Patricia McGovern, of Florida; one son, Walter Dyl, of Rhode Island; one sister, Nell Stevenson, of Ohio; two brothers, Neil Jamison, of Ohio, Lynn Jamison, of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Steven Juchnik, Julie Spirito and Jennifer Tavares all of Rhode Island and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at Toale Brothers Funeral Home - 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota with the funeral service to follow at 11 o'clock in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at 1:00 Tuesday, afternoon, July 23, 2013 at Sarasota National Cemetery - 9810 State Road 72 with military honors.
Remembrances may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children - 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, Florida 33612-9411.
