Carl Wesley Epperley, 97 of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died January 31, 2017.
He was born February 17, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Sidney and Delia Epperley. On August 3, 1940, he married Kathryn Moorefield in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Tool & Die maker and president of the Hawker Manufacturing Div. of East Dayton Tool & Die. In 1978 Carl and Katie retired to Sarasota, Fl. He was a member of Church of the Palms Presbyterian Church. He and Katie delivered "Meals on Wheels" for twenty-five years in Sarasota, Fl. Carl enjoyed golfing, bowling, square dancing, traveling and gardening. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was married to Katie for 71 years.
Carl is survived by his children Michael (wife Carol) of Sarasota, Fl; Kenneth (wife Melissa) of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Sean, Amy, Carrie, Allison, Lauren, great-grandchildren, Brenden, Braylen, Addison, and Miah.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katie; his son, Gary; brothers Orville, and Arthur.
Services will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choosing. Arrangements by Sound Choice Cremation & Burials.

Mike, Kenny and all family, our condolences on the passing of Uncle Carl. If someone had told us when we were kids that he would live to be 97, we all would have easily agreed! Carl and Aunt Katy were so energetic and full of fun, and love at the family gatherings. I have fun memories of visiting your Dayton home, swimming, playing pinball in the basement surrounded by dolls/angels they made! May you find peace and joy in photos and memories of their lives, and stories of the lives they touched! Blessings and Love to All!
