Ruby Lail Obituary

Ruby Lail CONOVER Ruby Kathleen Starnes Lail, 81, of Conover, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her residence. A native of Catawba County, she is the daughter of the late Mrs. Mildred Mathis Winebarger. Mrs. Lail was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Conover. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother Hayden Mathis. Survivors include her husband of 18 years, James Calvin Lail; sons, Tommy E. Starnes and wife, Lynn Starnes of Hickory, Roger Starnes of Taylorsville; daughter, Judy Carolyn Keller and husband, Larry G. of Conover; step-children, James P. Lail and wife, Amy of Longview, Brandon Lail of Granite Falls and Lore Mellow of Newton; brother Pinkney Winebarger of Hickory; six grandchildren and nine great-grand-children. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Birner and Rev. Matthew Schilling officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 until 11:45 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 and the Back-Pack program at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 6175 St. Peters Church Road, Conover, NC 28613. Condolences may be sent to the Lail family at www.drumfuneralhome.com. The Lail family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.
