Matthew East Jensen

WEST HAVEN - Matthew East Jensen, 28, died Aug. 14, 2009, in West Haven. He was born July 2, 1981, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Melvin Delbert and Donava East Jensen. Matt was a graduate of Fremont High School and served an LDS mission to Winnipeg, Canada. He married Meghan Payne in November of 2002. Together they had one daughter, Amerisa; they later divorced. He married Kara Burns in March of 2008 in Providence, Utah. Matt enjoyed fishing and camping and loved the outdoors. Matt also loved to cook. Matt loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Kara; daughter Amerisa Erin Jensen, 5, of Washington; parents Melvin and Donava Jensen; grandparents Delbert Jensen and Ava East; siblings Melvin Jensen Jr. (Tammy), Richard Jensen (Liz), Sheri Bradshaw (James), Tina Richards (Scott), Justin Jensen (Jamie) and Katie Sherrick; many nieces and nephews who adored him; as well as his in-laws Mike and Carmell Burns. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa East, Grandma Jensen and Uncle Mike East. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Thursday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Aultorest Memorial Park. Matt, you are loved by your family and those whose lives you touched. You will be greatly missed. Take care little brother; you will be forever in our hearts.
