Gene kept a mind and heart on helping Africans, American and or otherwise, and was very thoughtful, touched by the inhumanity shown to them during the pre-civil rights era because of hate or self-righteousness'.His personal testimony was Very, very strong that all worthy males should be able to hold Full LDS Priesthood blessings before the ban was lifted. One my favorite all time Hollywood movies was "Rocky". Basically a story of a person overcoming overwhelming odds to reach his goal. It was great to meet and get to know someone who worked on that film as well as My wifes' and I favorite Small Epic LDS Film "Testaments". I wish I may have knew him twenty years early to maybe have shared a little more time conversing about similar interest and ideas.WE will Miss Gene and his Youthful Spirit. As our home teachers We wish to thank Both Gene and his Wife Anna who Embraced us as one of their own.. A bit of a rare quality sometimes. Our condolences to sister Anna Ashbrook and their children and extended family. We wish you best of Heavenly Fathers Spirit during this time of Grieving with hopes of a Glorious Reunion Someday.
