Robert Thing Obituary

Robert L. Thing, Sr., 90, a resident of Severna Park, died on March 7, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

He was born on September 11, 1921 in Weldon, IL and raised in Mt. Olive, IL.

Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945and was in the Single Corps and he was employed with Westinghouse for 20 years until his retirement

He was an avid gardener, bridge player, and loved to teach electronics at Northeastern University (at night) in Boston, MA

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Ann.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annette Thing; his children, Robert L. Thing, Jr. (Jayne) of Glen Burnie, Eric G. Thing (Susan) of Arizona, Joan Ellen (Robert) of Pasadena, and Christopher J. Thing of Severna Park; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2-4 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146, where a Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 pm. Interment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis, MD.
