Milton Marcel

Milton James Marcel, 80, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hebert Marcel of Houma; one son, Stephen Marcel and wife, Ellie; two daughters, Donna Luneau and husband, Jerome, and Suzy Greathouse and husband, Sean; six grandchildren, Harley Marcel, Brandy Howell, Lyndsy Crochet, Ryan Crochet, Tyler Bourg and Kyle Bourg; two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Wyatt Howell; and one brother, Millard Marcel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Marcel and Edna Freeman Marcel; and two sisters, Mary Boudreaux and Mildred Fonseca.

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He was a material supervisor at Avondale and Raymond Fabricators and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
