Jack Albritton Obituary

Jack Clifton Albritton 70, of Rosharon, Texas passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014. Jack was born in Houston, Texas to the late Mary Lou and Cliff Albritton on March 30, 1944. After graduating from Milby High School in 1962 he entered the United States Army and served a tour in Vietnam, after which he became an accomplished realtor and builder. Jack was an active and beloved member of the community. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member of the Palomino Club. An advocate for reaching out to those in need, he was known for not only helping those in need, but befriending everyone he touched, as well. He will be remembered for his western flare, which included a love of horses, singing and cooking BBQ. Family and friends describe his 70 years with words that resonate deeply as we reflect on his passing, and on the legacies we'll all leave behind. Some of those words are; charismatic, giving, compassionate, a gentleman, generous, loyal, amazing and fun. He leaves with us a true example of how to live our own lives. Jack is survived by sisters, Pat Etie, of Georgetown, Texas, and Mary Louise Butos, of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by two nephews, John Clifton Butos and Peter Petkas Butos and wife Susan. He loved his great nephews and nieces, Chase, Christopher, Makenzie, Madelyn, and Emily. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A viewing will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at Forest Park Lawndale Chapel of the Angels with the Reverend Ricky Moore of Garden Villas Baptist Church officiating. The burial will immediately follow.

Happy Father's Day, Jack ❤️ I know you didn't have any kids of your own, but you took care of me like I was your daughter. You let me ride your horses & sang karaoke with me..I miss you so much and I would do anything to see you again and to have you meet my two beautiful girls. They would have loved you, just like I did.

Safe a spot for me up there, i love you and happy Father's Day.

I'm sorry to hear about Jack's passing. We met when we built a house in Manvel right next door to Jack on Rodgers St. I remember Jack wanted the meter loop that was left over from the build and we made a trade...loop for sand. Jack was running a sand pit at the time. We helped him open "Bucko's" after he built that place. We also ran fireworks for Jack. I remember that long run from Manvel to Lufkin that evening I got home from work. My 2 boys and I made the run. A lot of other memories as well. Good ones. Gonna miss ya buddy. He's gotta be remolding his little piece of Heaven about now.

Jack, you were one of my earliest clients as I started practice in Manvel way back in the 70's. Over the years we took care of lots of animals, and in 1999, you remodeled the clinic. You were always honest, trustworthy, and a dear friend. And, when you were in the fireworks business and I brought my kids to the stand, we all appreciated the extra fireworks you slipped in there at no charge. Rest in peace, Jack. I will miss you.

When I was growing up, Jack was my neighbor and a friend of my dad. He became a friend and mentor to me in my later years. We are both contractors. He always handed out matter of fact advice and left me laughing at some joke or story he would tell me. I am deeply saddened and will selfishly miss running into him randomly at the lumber yard. He always had time to talk, and I appreciated him. RIP Jack.
