John Taschery Obituary

John Albert Taschery, 92, of Conroe, Texas beloved father, grand-father and devoted husband passed away Wednesday February 20, 2013. He was born May 13, 1920 in Houston, Texas to Louisa and Guido Taschery. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Phillipenes for 42 months earning four Bronze Stars. On February 9, 1946 he married his wife Francis Gentake. They made their home in Houston before retiring to Conroe, Texas in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five siblings Lena Ray, Julia DeCarlo, Edith Plummer, Emma Lee Tascheri, brother Louis and great-grandson Case Foster Thomas. He is survived by daughter Cynthia Dusek and husband Joe of East Bernard; son Mark and wife Susan of Montgomery; daughter Michelle Hanson of Galveston and son John and wife Shelley of Conroe. He was lovingly called 'Paw Paw' by his 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who knew him as their favorite 'Uncle Johnny'. A visitation will be held at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm with a rosary at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Chruch on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10am followed by the interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
