I still miss my dad every day. I can't shake the memory of him watching me walk across the stage at my high school graduation. He was so proud of me. Just a few days later, on my birthday, I learned that he had passed away.

His journey has just begun. My prayers are sent to the Heavenly Father with the knowledge he will bring the family peace. I finished high school with Carl at John H. Reagan class of 1978, and he was a quiet and kind young man. May God bless his soul, and keep his family strong.

I graduated with Carl from Reagan High School and I can still see that winning smile. I got a chance to see him at a couple of functions and he still had that wonderful personality and smile. Needless, to say he will be missed, but may you take comfort in treasured memories and feel God’s loving embrace now and in the days that follow.

To the Family of Carl Tillis, I would like to express my condolences and deepest sympathy. Carl and I worked together for many years at Target, and he was my date for my high school prom. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. May God bless you in the days to come and surround you with his love, comfort and peace.

To Everyone with the memories of times shared with Mr. Tillis may the Lord comfort you and provide you with many thoughts of greats momemts had in the life of our Friend.
I first met Carl at regristration for Kindergarten Class with our Mothers signing us up for Mrs Thompson class at Eight Avenue Elementary, later as Neighbors and Seniors graduating from Reagan High School. During those times I felt like I had a Brother living next door and often spent great times there with the Tillis Family.
In the days to come remember that Our Savior has a home away from here where we can celebrate our Love Ones and Friends. My prayers will be for the Family and Friends in the days to come as we find our way thru this tough time.

Carl was a friend to any and everyone who was willing to receive his sincerity and genuine Christian love. His smile was always so inviting and infectious until it literally lit up the entire room as well as his face! It was one of those smiles that came up from way down deep inside. The picture you see only scratches the surface of the person he was and the impact he made on the lives he touched. We don’t know when or how but we all have an exit. I’m thankful Carl was ready for his because he came from good stock and they always instilled the love of God in him. So I continue to keep the family in my prayers and my heart this day and for the days to come. It will be difficult but we can rest in the comfort of knowing that earth has not sorrow that heaven can’t heal! Truly heaven has healed Carl and although I wait for that glorious day when I will see him and others , who have gone one, again on the other side I just kinda got a feeling that Carl is singing God’s praises and smiling so big until he may even give the sun some competition!

We shall all miss Bro. Carl! We met him at the Church , with our son Jason. Carl, Sandra, Jason and the Choir were so wonderful! Bro. Carl would not want to come back to this ole world of pain and sorrow. YES- HE JUST GRADUATED TO THE OTHER SIDE- WHERE THERE, IT IS ALWAYS HOWDY, HOWDY; AND NEVER-NEVER GOOD BYE! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Once more, I close my eyes and see a soul on the wings of an angel. I hear a heavenly choir with voices of angels singing "Blessed Assurance" for there is a final resting for the soul of a Christian. A place where God is in the midst, in a place called Heaven. Carl will surely be miss. Co-Worker
