Solly was one of the most popular Houston Buffs player from that era. When he moved up to the majors it was a huge loss for the Buffs.

I had the pleasure of knowing this dear man and his family through his dental office. Every time they came in was special to all of us because we loved them. Betty actually worked for our beloved Dr. B. many years ago. It felt like family when we saw them. Solly was always upbeat and the ultimate gentleman.
To Dearest Betty, Jackie, Wayne, Leah and their families, our condolences and love.

While I didn't pay much attention to baseball when I was a child, I have never forgotten that my dad loved Solly Hemus and I would hear him shout out his name as he listened/watched the Buffs ball games. Thank you, Solly, for adding bright spots to my dad's work filled life!
