Bob treated everyone with warm smile and a true interest into whatever the other person may be saying. Just a great guy to spend time with in the cockpit. One of the best! God bless.

I flew with Bob as a co-pilot many times during my early years in Houston. He was always a pleasure to fly with; easy going yet very professional. We will all miss him.

As a lifelong friend of his son's Jeff and Steve, all of us Champions kids loved "Uncle Bob" as we called him. He always made you feel welcome in their home and he played a mean game of driveway hoops. I know him as a great husband, father, coach, pilot and friend. I will miss seeing him on my trips to Houston. I always made time to see him and Doris when I was in town. I guess Doris will have to keep the beer stocked for me now! Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Lawson family.

Uncle Bob , they were always one word, to me used separately they would always conjure up the other. We lived far from each other and he was a seldom seen uncle that was never felt to be seldom seen . His essence his presence was always there just beneath the surface and from so many benign topics would initiate a flow of all of the good memories of him .The topics Airline pilot, Houston, Colorado, golf, family, Texas drawl would initiate a flood of all of the good memories of him . These were the Uncle Bob memories and they were all good and comforting .
I am sure that the memories I have of Uncle Bob may be similar to many others, all of our views all of our views contribute to telling what this good man was.
For me Uncle Bob was a very handsome man , I felt that way when I first met him and he was handsome his whole life . Although he retired early he lived a healthy life both physically and spiritually . You could always sense the athlete in him by the way he carried himself and with his zest for life . I was always in awe of him being an airline pilot , to this day I cannot fly anywhere without thinking that Uncle Bob used to fly these things . At every opportunity I used to brag about my Uncle Bob being an Airline pilot.
I was an adopted son yet on my first meeting with Bob I was treated like a legitimate nephew, I never forgot that and I have loved Bob ever since .
Being from the north Bob was the first person I ever heard with a Texas drawl , I absolutely fell in love with it and I would just hang around him to hear his stories and the way he saw things that seemed so special by the way that he said it . I will never forget that and I can hear him talking now . To me that was one of the best things about him .
What a good and blessed man who brought into the world and raised 2 awesome sons and presides over a beautiful family . The recent picture of him with the family at Thanksgiving speaks volumes for what he has accomplished and how much love he has created .
We have only memories now but we shall not lose these memories because they are the absolute best and they show us how a Good man should live with courage perseverance and love .
We will honor Bob by living our lives the same way , living a good and happy life . That is what Bob would be telling us , so let us not be sad long but rejoice in honoring him , he would not want it any other way .
Godspeed Uncle Bob

I flew as a 727 Flight Engineer with Bob as the Captain many times. Bob was such a pleasure to fly with. He treated everyone on the crew with respect and kindness. When I saw his name on the schedule, I knew it was going to be a good trip. One of the best at Delta Airlines. God Bless.

I worked with Bob in Houston for 20 years. I never heard him make a negative comment about anybody in all that time. The world could use millions of Bob Lawson. Rest in pease.

I first met Bob after I got hired and moved to Houston I was an engineer on the DC -6when he flew co-pilot. A very good pilot and after playing golf with him I discovered my limitations in that sport. Good memories of a great guy.

My condolences to Bob's wife and family. Bob and I went through Steele, Byers Jr. High and South High together until he moved to Longmont in his junior year. In school he was a good friend. I still see his brother Lee at MOAA functions. May you all be consoled by the thought that Bob is now without pain or anxiety and rests in peace.
