Sphoia, Thanks so much for all you did for Virginia. I know she was very pleased to have you to depend on for everything. She was a fun person to have in the family. I have always admired her beauty and success, since I was small and Dean would tell me about her, when I would look at her picture that was always on the wall over the Sofa in Check & Deans' home. When she was here last, she pretty much said her Good-byes, but now we know its final for her and she is with Jack, Uncle Les, and Aunt Thelma. Thanks again from her Arkansas Family. My mother and I were so sad to hear of Virginia's passing. She and Jack were a big part of my life growing up in Houston. My mother, Nell Dillon (now 97), worked for Jack for over 30 years at Meyerland Glass. She and Virginia are members of First Methodist were in Sunday School class together. I can remember group trips to the beach and also just hanging out listening to Virginia play the drums with a few musician friends. Virginia was always smiling and laughing, and that is the way we'll remember her!

I've always thought of you as my aunt Virginia and my "second mom" that helped raise me. I especially remember all the fun times we had and uncle Jack's great stories he would tell. I will miss you always.

Virginia was a great person and, for many years, a great friend and co-worker. The obituary doesn't even begin to tell her story. Virginia loved music. She loved to dance and, for many years, she traveled back to Shreveport to play drums in a band. Virginia never left home without looking perfect. She had beautiful clothes and wore them well. When she moved to Houston and worked in the bank, she always said she didn't want anybody calling her an Arkansas hillbilly. Many of her beautiful dancing clothes hang in my closet today. Sadly, as the years went by, my life and Virginia's took different paths and I left the Houston area. I am glad she is at peace now. Virginia, I will never forget you. We shared lots of secrets. You are part of my history. Your friend, Ruth Crouch, Bulverde, Texas
