Carl Hale Obituary

KELLER, Tx -- CARL EDWARD "ED" HALE JR., age 58, owner and president of Industrial Diesel, Inc., passed away at Baylor Dallas on April 22, 2009, following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Compass Christian Church, 2600 Hall Johnson Rd., Colleyville, Texas, 76034. Memorials: For more information or to make a donation, please visit www.multiplemyeloma.org. Ed was born on October 25, 1950 in the town of Alexandria, Louisiana to Myrl Anderson Parker, currently of Keller, Texas, and the late Carl Edward Hale, Sr. of Carrollton, Texas. Ed graduated from LD Bell High School in Hurst, Texas in 1968. He founded Industrial Diesel in 1984 and later took on his longtime friend, Sam Bonar, as a business partner. To many, Ed was a good businessman who considered every employee a valued family member. Ed was a loving son, a dedicated father, a funloving grandfather and a loyal friend. Throughout his years, he was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He split his time between his home in Keller, Texas and his lakehouse on Lake Fork. He attended Compass Christian Church in Colleyville, Texas and sowed many seeds at Alliance Community Fellowship Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Michael Hale and his father, Carl Edward Hale, Sr. Ed is survived and loved by Rebecca "Becky" Tripp; his mother and step father, Myrl and Vince Parker and his step-mother Mary Hale. He will be deeply missed by his loving daughters and son-in-laws, Kristi and Chris Stevens, Mikel Taylor and her fiance Adam Esparza and his youngest daughter, Jessica and Brian O'Banion. Ed "Papa" has left many special memories with his grandchildren Karson Stevens, Elle Tripp, Reagan Stevens, Haley Esparza, Jonathan Taylor and Conner O'Banion. There is no way to mention everyone who has touched Ed's life. Thank you all.

The greatest man I ever knew was ED HALE! I just heard about his passing today and I am so sad. Thank you Mikel for talking with me. I know he loved his girls tremendously! I miss him so much and that, I'm sure pales in comparison to how much his family misses him.

I have to be one of most blessed people to have had the honor of working for Ed over the last five years. He was a man of principal. He honored his word, he had dignity and integrity. His personality was witty and electrifying. His generosity has blessed so many people in ways that may not even be noticed for years to come. He left us all with a treasure chest full of the nuggets that made him who he was and those nuggets will carry on for generations to come.

I will remember you always and you will be greatly missed.
Until we meet again....

My deepest love to the family.
