Dear Libby,
I just needed to send my condolences to you and your family. I understand how you are feeling now.
We met on a Saturday in Gloversville, NY..After our 6 hours together I feel like I know you. My name is Kate Lasher and you used MY sewing machine to share a technique. Your Mom's passing will bring you strength when you quilt. She'll be with you always, in spirit...as my mom is with me.

Dear Libby,
I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. In getting quilts ready for Dee Lynn's memorial this week, Val Sparks reminded me of the time your mother gave an outdoor presentation on Amish quilts at the Quilted Apple in Phoenix, AZ. The wind was whipping the quilts around making it hard for the store's employees to hold them while Catherine talked. We anticipated the same at Dee's memorial, but all went well. There surely is a quilt frame in heaven with lots of lovely quilters there sharing stories while they quilt away. Blessings to you and your family in this difficult time.

Catherine and Jim were two of the world's best, and we will forever remember with great fondness our many times with them, Michael holding especially good memories of springtime excursions to teach at the Quilt Patch and enjoy the Anthonys' gracious and generous hospitality. They showed us the best of Texas and the best of family and community. We're so glad to have seen Catherine at the Silver Star Salute a couple or three years back - she's herself a shining star whose memory will twinkle brightly in our reflections on the past. Love to all the Anthony siblings and condolences from two whose lives were enriched by her grace and charm.

Libby, Mynan Guidry just phoned me to tell me about your mom's passing. I am so very sorry, she was such a friend to her daughters as well as a super-organized mom! The quilting world has lost an amazing teacher, but knowing you, the legacy lives on and will spread far and wide. I love you, and pray for you often. A mother is a most difficult friend to lose. Love and prayers, Tanya

I remember going to the store on Voss Road many years ago. It was when I first became 'hooked' on quilting. Many thanks for all you have done for quilters and may Heaven welcome you Catherine.

Libby: I remember sitting in the back seat of your car, looking at your mother speaking in the front seat as we drove somewhere in Ohio. I was struck by the beauty of her face and her skin. An odd but vivid memory I thought I would share.

Libby, your mother was such a special person in my life. I am so fortunate to have known her. She was so much more than my employer or teacher. She was such a wonderful lady. My thoughts are with you and your family as you go on without her. She leaves us with great memories.

Libby, Cathy, Ellen and Sarah--
I want to thank you for so generously sharing your mother -- she was an incredible role model! My best and strongest memories are of the amazing life on Roaring Brook and in scouting with Mrs. A as a prominent image in both. She taught us so much! She and Goody conjured up opportunities for what I know now were incomparable experiences. And did we have fun or what?? I feel very lucky to have known her. Please know how very sorry I am for your loss.

Libby, Cathy, Ellen and Sarah,
It's been nearly 50 years since I joined your mother's Girl Scout troop, and I remember well what a family endeavor it was for all of you. What a lasting effect your mother and father had on my life! The nature walks whenever we went camping fascinated me, as well as learning the names of all the trees and various critters in the woods. The fact that I am now a Master Gardener is probably the fruition of all those hours she spent nurturing our interest in the natural world. I think of her all of the time. She and your father left us all such a gift! The world would be a better place if we all did as well.

Dear Libby,
I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's death! I was really taken with her on The Quilt Show's segment when you received the Quilt Legend honor of the year. You and she reminded me so much of my best friend, Diane Arthur who died of ALS about 6 years ago after a battle with cancer. She and her mother (who was from the South also) played a sweet and meaningful role in my life for many years. Diane was also very intelligent as you are, and didn't miss a trick. She held a Masters in Business and I had known her,and then her Mom since the early 80's. Being from Ohio, so many of my childhood friends live far from me. That Mother/Daughter twosome were just great and I loved them both dearly. I know how close you were to your Mother. You have my heartfelt sympathy! You are so lucky to have had her for as long as you did. My Mom died at 79 yrs. as did my father. With Heartfelt Love and Empathy, Christine M. Parks,

Dear Libby:
Thank you for letting your quilting peers know about your Mom's death. I never met your mother but felt I knew her. Her block books back in the 80's were my "bibles" to learning the art of fussy cutting and precise piecing.
She had to be a great woman to have birthed such a loving, caring and sharing daughter. In the world of quilting, you are one of the "good guys".
Blessings and sympathy to you and your sisters.
love,
Candi Depauw
