Doris Collier Obituary
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Calvin J. Collier, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Collins and husband Thad; grandchildren, Kadin and McKensie; brother, Bob Fritts and wife Betty Lou; sister, Mary Baker; sister-in-law, Gaye Fritts; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 10310 Scarsdale, Houston, Texas 77089 with Rev. Randy Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas.
In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be sent in Doris Collier's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030 or to the charity of your choice.
Condolences may be sent to the Collier family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

Tracy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have so many great memories when I was a child of spending of week each summer with your mom and dad. It was something I looked forward to every year. She took me for my first manicure and trip to the beauty salon. One summer she took me to sit by the pool at her club. I always felt so special when I spent time with my Aunt Doris. I hope the love and friendship of the many people who knew her will keep you strong. Love, Cheryl Fritts Ray

Tracy, please accept my condolences on the loss of your mom. She was a really nice lady who was always so gracious and kind to me. I'll always remember her and your dad fondly for their generosity of spirit, sincere love for you and their genuine appreciation for one another.
