EVERETT BAXTER Obituary

EVERETT "TEDDY" BAXTER, age 61, of Houston, passed away on Tuesday, the 17th of November 2009.Teddy was born on the 5th of October 1948. He was a resident of Spring Branch Transitional Care and was a longtime member of West University United Methodist Church. Until the past year and a half, Teddy attended The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation and was one of the first individuals to attend The Center when it opened in 1950.He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Alice and Theo Baxter, and his sister, Kate Baxter Brander. Teddy is survived by his niece, Sherri Kay Wakefield and husband Jim, of Yorba Linda, CA. and their children, Emily and Matthew; his nephew, Scott D. Smith of Pflugerville, TX; and other loving family and friends.Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 20th of November, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.Funeral services are to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 21st of November, in the chapel of West University United Methodist Church, 3611 University Boulevard in West University Place. The interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Center, Adult Activity Center, 3550 West Dallas, Houston, TX, 77019. -->

Teddy was a special person who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a fighter who survived many adversities in life and was fortunate to always have people around him who loved and cared for him deeply. With Teddy's passing a little bit of myself departs but in my heart their always be a specal place for my little buddy.
