Everett Williams Obituary

Everett Moore Williams , 96, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born October 11, 1917 in Pasadena, TX to Ray C. Williams and Irma McMasters Williams.
He finished Pasadena High in 1935 and married the love of his life Elma later that year, and they were married for 73 years. In 1936, at 18, he began working as a water boy for Shell Oil in Deer Park, retiring after 45 years as Cargo Inspector. During this time he also served in the US Navy (WW II).
Everett was elected Water Commissioner in 1947 and held office for 8 years. He spent 38 years in the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Dept. where he retired as Chief. During his "free time" Everett served as a deacon at South Main Baptist Church and later at Friendswood Baptist Church. He rode in 10 trail rides with the Pasadena Mounted Police and was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. During his retirement years, he began playing golf, participating in many state tournaments, and winning 3rd place in the National Seniors in Ohio in 2013.
He was preceded in death by wife, Elma, and daughter, Norma.
Everett is survived by children, Nancy and Harvey Brannen of Missouri City; Dr. and Mrs. Everett Williams, Jr. of Dallas, and Ben Williams of Houston; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and his associate of nearly 3 years, Janice Frankie.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. John D. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
