Not sure what to say?

November 9, 2010

I am shocked and saddened at the news that Jeff Eddy has passed. I have just recently learned of this news. I first met Jeff in the 1980s at the Dark Horse Bar on Richmond. I have some great memories of those times. My family and I were frequent visitors of Trulucks, as it was our favorite Houston restaurant and had celebrated many special occasions there. We were one of Jeff's customers and we enjoyed sharing our special occasions with him. We always seemed to pass some of the evenings recounting those fun days at the Dark Horse. I can not begin to express my sense of loss nor my profound sympathy for Clayton. Jeff was a great man that loved his son with all of his heart.

WOW! I do not know what to say. I just tried to make reservations with Jeff, as I would only go to Truluck's if he was working. Such a great server and always talked about his son. I was shocked to hear about his passing. It brought tears to my eyes. Clay, I am sure you will be taken care of. If anything is needed, please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck in school and stay strong for dad. He is watching you!

Jeff was a very special guy who made dining at Trulucks a memorable experience. He was a very very very ....proud dad, who always had something to share regarding the accomplishments of his son. He will be greatly missed. Trulucks will never be the same experience. Rest in peace our friend!

Jeff was a pledge brother of mine back in 1968. He was one of those special people who you never forget. He was bigger than life as an athlete and a friend. I have never seen a guy as big as Jeff run so fast in his bare feet. He always played intermural football barefooted and was faster than anyone on the field. Clayton, you would be very proud of you dad if you would have known him in his prime. He will be missed by all of his TCU friends and SAE brothers.

Jeff was one of those rare people who touched plenty of lives naturally, without trying hard. He was just himself, always making a special night at Truluck's memorable not just because of the stone crabs, but because of his friendliness and attentiveness that came as a side order, no charge. He loved his TCU Horned Frogs and he loved his job, and he loved putting smiles on the faces of his customers and friends that lasted long after they left the restaurant.
