We were talking about you with the kids last week at dinner. There was a misspelled sign at the table . I told them I used to proof read and Described to them how you would paint signs in the den of the Arnim house. They couldn´t believe grandma would let you paint in the house. Everyone has a good laugh. We´re always thinking of you and remembering you. Talk to you soon.

Grandpa,
What a year this has been. The fall season has always been my favorite season, but it’s also becoming a season of loss and reflection. I list my Dad this year and now the season marks the loss of both my fathers. Luckily I still have the guidance of my uncles and the love and support of my family.
I miss you dearly. Say hello to my dad and tell him I love him.

God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you and whispered,
"Come to Me".
In tears we saw you sinking.
We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were ever broken,
you fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer so again.
So keep your arms around him Lord,
and give him special care.
Make up for all he suffered and all that seemed unfair.

Dad, I Love You and Miss You dearly. The thing that gets me through, is knowing that I will see you again one day. You will be waiting for me and I will carry you deep in my heart until then.

I miss you again today.

Grandpa, it is truly an honor to be your grandson. All it takes is a step back to reveal how your love is woven into the fabric of my life. Now that you're gone, I can feel it tearing... Nothing in this world can replace the growing void you've left behind. It stings like ice and I wonder if this winter will ever end? There's no need to worry because I can already feel you returning... Take the stage in my thoughts, haunt the corners of my room. Echo throughout the rest of my days and I'll follow you

I would like to thank everyone for all of their support and caring during this difficult time. My father was a special man. I just wish it had not taken me so long to realize this. When you're young, you see your parents differently, but with God's help, as you get older, you come to realize just how special they are. I wish I had more time with him. I miss him so much. I know he's in a better place, and I can't wait to see him again! He will always be my mentor, and along with God, my guide for the rest of my life. I see him everywhere in all of my family members. He left us with so much. I thank God for him and mom! Together, I think they both did a wonderful job with their kids, and I am proud of my family! God Bless all of you for being there for us!

I love you, Dad!

I would like to give thanks to my dad. Thank you for always being there. Even though we didn't have everything you gave us the most important thing... you. We could always count on you. You gave me the strength I needed to face my fears, because no matter what, I knew that I could always count on you. You are the backbone and the strength of this whole family. Not only did you give us strength, you gave us laughter, music and art. You gave me the best part of who I am and for that I am eternally grateful. I will love you till my last heartbeat. I will see you again and I want to hear your stories how only you can tell them. I love you Dad and every time I fix something with gray tape, I will think of you... thank you for leaving so much of yourself behind in my heart and mind.... i don't think you realized just how special you were... to so many people...

Thank you to all of you that took the time to leave your thoughts, prayers and stories in this guest book for my father...

It means so much to know how much he was truly loved and respected.

" Grandpa " I have so many things on my mind and on my heart about you. I love you so much, and it hurt to let go, but i know your safe and in good hands now and that is what helps me to be ok. Its funny that throughout my life I have heard grandpa's advice, knowledge and insights, but its only been in the last few days that they have flooded my mind and it is only now that I am listening. It seems like everything I do no matter how trivial I can hear him in my head advising me, guiding me. I only wish my being young, stupid and stubborn wouldn't have made me so resistant and combative toward him. I love you grandpa. I was listening I just did not know it. I know you'll still advise me and guide me. I can feel you with me.

Out of all my memories, there is no way that I can narrow down my favorite of my grandpa. Every time I saw him, it was always "Heeey, my morning staaar". No matter how I felt at that exact moment, those few words always made me feel so special. Or when my grandpa would always insist on making me pancakes in the morning before work. He would knock on my bedroom door and say, "mija, you want some pancakes? I'm going to make you some right now." It did not matter to him if I said no thank you that morning. Let me tell you, my grandpa's pancakes were like no other. First, he would start with grandma's cast iron pan. Then, he would coat the bottom of the pan with almost an inch of cooking oil. In went the pancake batter...and there was my breakfast...fried pancakes! The biggest pancakes in the world! My grandpa then would put the amount of butter on them himself and set the plate down in front of me. After that he would say, "here mija, let me put some syrup for you." And he would pour and pour and pour syrup all over the pancake until it had drowned. Then he would say, "Nice." No matter how my appetite was that day, I would eat, even if it was just the edges of the pancake. My grandpa would sit there and watch me have breakfast while he would tell me about the bible, the stars, history, love, the world in all of his wisdom. See, my grandpa new something about everything. My heart aches without him but I am confident and comforted in the fact that he's with his creator, Jesus Christ looking down upon us. And if I know my grandpa, he's never going to not be with all of us throughout the rest of our time here.
I love you Grandpa.
