Pamela McLaughlin Obituary

Pamela Vera Mills McLaughlin (April 28, 1948 - March 30, 2012), passed away on Friday evening surrounded by her immediate family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Michael McLaughlin, her son Michael Jr., her daughter and two grandchildren Kimberly, Mitchell and Camron McLaughlin, her mother and stepfather Shirley and Leonard Russo, brother Bob Mills and sister Sandra Garion. She was pre-deceased by her younger brother Gregory Mills.
This amazing, compassionate, kind, considerate and sweet woman gave selflessly her entire life. Her last thoughts were for the comfort of her friends and family and the advancement of the medical profession to help others that had a similar condition to hers.
She wore many hats during her short 63 years in this life. She worked as a dental hygienist, gift shop manager and at the local high school. She was also extremely artistic and created and sold handcrafts. Of those, her most important roles were that of a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted all of her time, love and energy to her children. She was at every sporting event, school play, ceremony - you name it, she was there. Most recently, she would be seen hanging out with her two grandchildren who were the light of her life. They along with everyone else privileged to taste her famous red pasta sauce would acclaim it the best this side of the Mississippi River.
Most will remember her as the "Santa Lady". Pamela had a passion for Santa Claus figurines, at one point owning over 2,500 of them. She was showcased on two different Houston local news shows during the holiday season.
She always knew what to say, what to do and where to put the bandage to make things better. She had a way of making everyone around her comfortable. She is loved and will be dearly missed by all.
A remembrance ceremony will be held at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734, on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 7:00pm with a reception immediately following at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston TX.
Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, Texas 78734 (512) 263-1511. Obituary and guestbook available online at
