Wow, ten years ago today the Lord called your name, it certainly does not seem that long ago. I remember when we got the telephone call from Dee Dee. We miss you and love you, but we know that God loved you more and He only lent you to us for a short time. We thank God for allowing you to spend 35 years with us and we throughly enjoyed the time you were with us, seeing you grow from infancy to the young man you had become. My prayer is that God continues to bless and strengthen our family. There are still some days that are harder than others, but with God's help we make it through the day. Until we see you again. Love you and miss you, Chug-A-Boom.

A few years ago I was sadly given the news of Roy, 'Chugs' passing. I have recently come across this guest book and wanted to share a remark.
I have fond memories of his very early days/months at Utep. I must say, I remember that he truly loved his family, he especially spoke highly of an Aunt and Uncle in the Houston area, I cannot remember their names, and he really adored his niece, I believe his only niece at that time. It broke my heart to hear of his passing. My mother just reminded me of a game he gave her tickets to attend while he was a Miner. He had such a caring heart!! I am so saddened by his passing and I realize this is way overdue but may each of you reading this receive my deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one, he was adored by many!!

As you know,
Losing you doesn't get any easier
We think of you everyday,
Wishing you were here with us
...It brings us comfort to know
You're in a better place,
Watching over us.
You're always on our minds,
Of course you're in our hearts.
We love and miss you much!

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Thought of You - I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, and often speak your name now all I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which we'll never part God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

Although a year has gone by, and the pain may linger on; search inside your hearts and be strong....For it's now become Chug's new home. He is never far and is always smiling down on you with an occasional wink or two. He's proud of how far you've come when you thought you wouldn't make it; He told Jesus not to hold back because he knew you could take it....He wants you to love hard all those you see; Some are Angels sent to look after his family....Luv You Much,
Phaedra.

It has been a year today since Chug was called to his heavenly home and he is still missed and loved, but we take one day at a time. We were so blessed to have Ashlee and Baby Bear with us today went we went by Chug's grave to say hello on this first anniversary, and he knew they were with us physically.
To my dear sister and family, I would like to share this poem with you, I know that you have read it before and it is so true about our nephew, godson and family member.
"Love Lives On"
(Author Unknown)
Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, far as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.

As a 7th grader in Stephenville, TX, I was privileged to witness Roy’s inaugural year of college at Tarleton State University. More importantly, I was blessed to have met Roy and his family during the basketball season. The memories that I have, albeit short, will remain forever. As a young and impressionable kid, Roy was one of my role models, not only for his basketball skills, but more importantly, for his all around character. Roy signified a unique combination of hard work, desire, charm, and moral fiber which we should all learn from and strive to incorporate in our lives. My heart and prayers go out to Roy’s family.

Even though I had a brother, Chug was the brother I always wanted, but never got. As I often tell people, I don't feel like I have a lot of cousins, I feel like I have a lot of brothers and sisters. Although we didn't see each other often as our adult lives took us along different paths, my world lit up every time I saw Chug.
Cousin Marilyn & Cousin Roy, you are in my prayers and thoughts always. I added some family reunion photos to the photo album for all to enjoy. I'm just a phone call away if you need anything.(817) 468-8412 / (817) 680-8257. Just let me know and I'll be there. I love you all.

We are all a little richer because Chug passed our way. It is our deepest sympathies that we send for your lost. We do know that God is too wise to may a mistake and His will must be done. We pray that you are able to accept His will.
May you find peace and comfort in knowing that others share your lost. We do care!
I know you have beautiful memories of Chug and these memories will sustain you.
To all of you, may God strenghten you and comfort you in this sad hour. The Bible says that "weeping endureth for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." ALL we have in our hour of bereavement is our hope and faith in Jesus Christ.
Lean and depend on Him for comfort, peace and strenght.

To the Howard Family. "Chug" will be missed terribly by us all. He was our "brother" and friend. I will always remember playing with both DeeDee and Chug while growing up. I will always hold the connection that our families have close to my heart. I pray that you find strength in God and know that he loves you and will never forsake you. I chose to believe that he has taken a wonderful vacation to be with God and will one day be able to tell us all what a joyous journey it was. I love you Mr. Roy, Mrs. Marilyn, and Dee Dee. And, never forget that we are here for you always.

Many say that we shouldn't question God "why", but He is the only one with all the answers. He says "cast thy cares upon him for he careth for you". If you ask God for clarity, he will make it plain, but he prepares you for the answer first. I truly feel Chug is in a better place and he is with you day or night. You can visit with him everytime you close your eyes and see his face. The love in your heart will always keep him near. Trust God to stay true to his promise; You will meet him again, but till then, take it one day at a time. We love you and we are praying for you.

I enjoyed everytime I saw him, he called me 'shorty' I use to tell him to sit down when we talked because I got tired of looking up. I am praying for your family, I know it is still hard and will always hurt. God makes no mistakes, so continue to believe in him and the days and the pain will be easier to bear one day. NO ONE CAN EVER KNOW THE DEPTH OF YOUR LOSS, BUT I KNOW THAT THE DEPTH OF THE LOVE THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE FOR EACH OTHER WILL SUSTAIN YOU AND KEEP YOU STRONG AS YOU HOLD EACH OTHER UP. Chug, I can not express how good it was to see you when you came through Atlanta in July, it had been at least 5 years since we had seen each other and when we did, it was like we had seen each other the day before. We picked up our conversation like we had talked the previous day. It was good to listen to each other and realize how much we both had matured. Even though we didn't speak on a regular basis, I always thought about you, as well as all our other cousins and families. I will continue to think of you and remember how special a person you are. I will continue to pray for you and our entire family that the Lord gives us acceptance of His will and wisdom to know that He never makes a mistake and that He will give the heavily burdened rest. You will always be with us and we with you.
Love always,

I have known about Chug all my life...but I actually got to know him only recently at the family reunion at Dee Dee's house a few weeks ago. Chug and I just began to establish a relationship at that particular moment for the very first time. We all (Elaine, Dee Dee, Chug and myself) had just began making plans to take a cruise together for next summer. Our conversation began because I called him "Chuck!" He asked, "Now where did you get that from?" After going back and forth, he corrected me and said his name is "Chug". We laughed for a minute. Within that short time, Chug catpured my heart. I am just glad that I was able to share a small moment in his life.
To the Family....please remember this....
"When Someone You Love Becomes a Memory the Memory Becomes a Treasure."
Chug is now a treasure that we all will have forever.
I will continue to keep the family and all the people who Chug touched, uplifted in prayer.
