Sean marched through life to the beat of a different drummer. He was a pure and sensitive, creative personality who lived life with flair and charisma. Education was primary for Sean, but on his own terms. Sean crafted his own education as a voracious reader. He began working through his father's library in elementary school and continued his own education throughout the rest of his life. He sought some university training at Texas Tech and the Art Institute of Houston. Sean also trained in a professional apprenticeship as a joiner of fine furniture, under a master carpenter. His last masterpiece was a cherry desk for his father, revealing the depth of his skill and artistry in this new and favored art form. Sean's rich artistic gift took many forms, from murals to graffiti, joinery to portraiture. Sean produced restaurant designs and relished cooking and entertaining.
Sean's life was full to the brim with family and friends who were always energized by his presence and his love. He is survived by his parents Michael and Nancy Griffin, his brother and best friend Patrick Griffin, his uncle George Fuson and wife Christine Smith and their son Carl, Joe and Ann Griffin and their daughters families'-Kelly and Todd Holton and their children Madeline and Griffin; Catherine and Cory Ready and their son Jack.
In lieu of flowers, the Griffin family would like to request that people pray that God will use Sean's passing for good. Please pray that those who are lost or struggling can find their way to peace and that God will put a hedge of protection around all who are suffering.
A memorial service will be held in St. Basil's Chapel, University of St. Thomas at 2pm on Friday December 28th. A reception will follow in the Ahern Room of the Crooker Center. Donations honoring Sean may be made to the charity of your choice.
