Barry Grunden Obituary

BARRY LYNN GRUNDEN-Born June 25, 1944, in Charlestown, Indiana, died Friday, January 2, 2009, in Katy, TX. Barry served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was retired after 10 years of service with the Katy Independent School District and 20 years with AT&T. Barry was a long time member of the Katy Elks Lodge #2628. Mr. Grunden was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lynn Grunden. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Loyce "Lolly" Grunden; children: Teresa Poore and husband, Jeff; William Grunden, Marc Gurtman and Miles Gurtman; the "Love of his life", granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Gurtman; and sister, Karen Williams and husband, Don. Memorial services will be celebrated Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 10:00AM, at the Katy Elks Lodge #2628, 1050 Katy-Fort Bend Drive, Katy, TX 77493. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barry Grunden's name (Katy Elks Lodge #2628) to Texas Elks Endowment, Inc., 1963 FM 1586, Gonzales, TX 78629.
