Dear Jim and Lober Family,
While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Tom, Jim and I were high school classmates. Please know my thoughts and prayers have been with each of you since hearing of Tom's passing.
I cannot image the loss of a child, or a sibling since I've not experienced that. However, my late wife, Ann was also taken early, at the age of 51. The only words that are appropriate are I'm sorry.
I'd like to share a couple of thoughts that may provide some comfort. The first is an excerpt of Ann's Life Tribute I wrote and delivered at her funeral.
"Several months ago my mother shared her thoughts of when her mother, my grandmother died, that I have embraced and found to provide great comfort. She said, “As a Christian I believe that after mother drew her last breath here on earth, the very next breath she took was in heaven.” As a Christian I believe Ann, and Tom, had that same experience.
And:
The LORD comforts his people and will have pity on those who suffer. (Isaiah 49:13)
If you'll celebrate a marriage anniversary alone this year, [God] speaks to you.
If your child made it to heaven before making it to kindergarten, he speaks to you. . . .
If your dreams were buried as they lowered the casket, God speaks to you.
He speaks to all of us who have stood or will stand in the soft dirt near an open grave. And to us he gives this confident word: "I want you to know what happens to a Christian when he dies so that when it happens, you will not be full of sorrow, as those are who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life again, we can also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him all the Christians who have died" (1 Thess. 4:13-14).
Prayerfully,
Bill L. Olson

Tom and I went to Texas A&M together. He was a happy-go-lucky soul, one that could bring a smile to anybody he met. I remember driving him home from Galveston and seeing all the strange clay figures that his father created, and I knew then where this fellow cadet got his since of humor. It must be familial.
Tom was and will always be a wonderful, loving man in my mind. I will truly miss this creative and unique person.

I knew Tom many years ago when we were at TMA together. He had a great big smile as a young man and an enterprising spirit even then. What a nice guy he was. My condolences to Lisa and his children.

Dear Lober Family,
"Gentle soul" is the perfect description of the Tom I remember from many years ago at Kinkaid. How very nice to know that he, and his infectious smile never changed.
With my deepest condolences,

Amy & David,
I am truly saddened with the loss of your father. Working with Tom on the boat was always fun. He always treated me well and we would poke fun at each other. I always enjoyed working on the boat with him and with the Star Fleet family because that's what we were...a family.
My prayers are with you--Myra Flud

I’m sorry to hear of the loss of Tom. I remember him as friendly guy that was always smiling. As a freshman, I remember that he would take the time to help underclassmen. I never worked with him professionally, but I’m sure he was an asset to the industry and fine example of how Seaaggies have made this a better world.

What an honor it was to have known and worked closely with Tom and his sales team this past summer. He and I talked just a few weeks ago. What a shock to know he's gone. My life is richer for having known Tom. What a great human being...and astute businessman.
