Albert Lee Pyle , born September 1,1921 in Kansas City, MO, son of Noah Pyle & Ella Mary, died at age 89 in Georgetown, TX on Monday, July 25,2011. Al, known for his drumming talent and passion for Dixieland Jazz, lived most of his life in Highlands, Texas. Aside from playing gigs up until age 85. He was an active member of the Masonic Order for over 65 years and was also in the Scotish Rite as well as a life-long Shriner. He was also President of the Shrine Band. Al was a dedicated public servant and was the President of the Highlands Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his spouse, Lou Ellen Pyle, Children, Dixie Tolbert, Cheryl Ivy, Roxy Mize, eight Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren. His death was preceded by his two siblings, Bill Pyle and Elvie Williams.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 4-6pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, TX. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 2pm Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
