I worked with Joe at Exxon's Tyler office during the early 1970's when things were very busy in the oil patch. He was consummate gentleman and never held it against me for being a T-sipper. He said I overcame it well. He was funny and always supportive. As a young engineer, I was very lucky to have a chance to work with people like him and Charlie Yust. They made an impression on me that has endured my entire career. God bless you Joe and your new adverture in the hereafter.

My father Charlie Yust was an Aggie who worked at Humble/Exxon with Joe for many year. Dad thought highly of Joe and always said nice things about him.

My condolences go out to the family of Mr. Wellborn. We are sobered by death's approach, and the Bible encourages us to face death courageously saying: “Better is it to go to the house of mourning than to go to the banquet house, the one alive should take it to his heart: (Ecclesiastes 7:2).
