I was telling my grandson about you today. How we were best friends growing up, playing basketball everyday, riding bicycles, and playing pool in our garage. Tomorrow will be 13 years you departed to your heavenly home. So glad I will see you again one day!

Hey buddy was thinking about you last week, wow 11 years now. I didn't get down to Binions last year in Vegas to have our yearly Miller lite. Sitting at that bar reminds me more of you than anything else. Sam the bartender swore he remembered you for the first 4 yrs. He wasn't there after that anymore. Well I'll be there again this Nov and Ill be thirsty....thank god you didn't drink Bud light!

Dear Holman family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I just read Kerrys one year memorial obituary. I had no idea he had passed. He was a wonderful person who taught me how to ride a horse. Its been many years since I last spoke with him but he was always very kind. I enjoyed his friendhip and laughter. I know he is in heaven with my beloved son who passed away December 30, 2002. He was always very sweet to my two boys. May God bless you Kerry, rest in peace. Sincerly, Ana Dudley-Weed

Kerry
When we moved in next to you we had no idea that we could not have picked a better neighbor, but I found out quickly. You took this Yankee under your wing and taught me many things, mainly how to enjoy life the Texas way.
So here's a few things I never got to thank you for.
For teaching me to shoot and what to buy. How to monopolize a jukebox with
George Strait, Earl Thomas Conley and don't forget Gary Stewart. All the BBQ cook-offs you invited me to with Big John, Ted and the rest of the crew. For how to enjoy a cold beer from Fort Worth City Limits to Millers Cave and every two stepping Honky Tonk in between. For you and Suzanne being at our wedding in Vegas and making it special (even though you and Suz wouldn't let us get married by that Elvis impersonator) For teaching me how to shoot pool better and enjoy it more. For helping us thru the good times and the bad.
Everyone on this site knows what a loving , caring and special friend you were. I know our lives change and friends drift in and out but you always stayed in touch. I'm sure we all have regrets and I now have mine my old friend, saying goodbye here is one of them, but I sure don't regret being your friend and neighbor. It was truly an honor.
Kerry thank you for some of the best years of my life. Shine bright for all of us down here still hurting and missing you.
Save me a cold Miller Lite for when I get there too. Love you my friend
Peace

A week ago today I lost the love of my life Kerry Holman. I had the privilege of being his wife for over 10 years. Kerry was the most beautiful, special, loving, caring man I have ever known. Kerry was my soul mate, when we met I knew that I knew that I knew he was the man I was supposed to spend my life with, we had a love that is hard to find. No matter what happened in our lives we always loved each other. Kerry made me feel so loved and beautiful; he had such a gift for making people feel special. Kerry was the kind of person everyone loved to call their best friend or brother or son, and he loved every one. It was such an honor to have the tremendous turnout at his celebration of life, just goes to show how much he touched so many lives. I was so fortunate to have so many people tell me how much they loved Kerry and they shared with me how much he loved me. God worked it out in our lives for us to have had the last 8 months together, every time we were together was so special filled with so much love. I am so thankful to have had Kerry in my life and I was looking forward to once again being his wife and carrying the Holman name again. I know we will be together again in heaven. Now Kerry is God's best friend. Kerry is now sharing a cold beer with his buddies: Larry & Billy Miller, Captain Ray, Big John, Mayor, Mr. Charlie, Ronnie Treadwell and Margaret Thigpen. Thank you to everyone who celebrated Kerry's life. I would like to thank The Houston Police Department for everything they did for us, thank you to Memorial Hermann Hospital for the kindness and care you showed us. Thank you to Kerry's brother Carl for everything he did during this time. I would like for you all to know that 5 lives were saved with Kerry's organ donations. Rest in peace my love, you will be forever missed. Love always, Suzanne

I still can't imagine my life without Kerry in it. He has been a huge part of my life for many years. Kerry is responsible for me having a career in law enforcement, by encouraging me that I had to go for my dreams and not just talk about them. He has touched my life in so many ways. He was the most free spirited and giving person I have ever known..and I guess that is why people of all walks of life were so drawn to him. I try to put this sadness behind me, because I know Kerry would not want it that way. What I do know for sure is that Heaven has inherited a beautiful Angel, and I am happy that he was a believer in a big way. Until we meet again....I love you, and miss you Kerry.

Karebear,
I stayed strong throughout the memorial, I know it's what you would've wanted. I couldn't help but break down listening to your song though. I miss you. I miss being lectured for wearing makeup before I go jogging. I miss cooking with you. I wish I could go back and eat that pig you made for me, that I wanted so badly to have. It's the little things I miss the most. I hope you're drinking a beer and smiling. I love you karebear, thankyou for everything.. <3

Be profound with clarity of the love you want to leave your loved ones with. Kerry left very sudden and with his profound clarity he leaves us all knowing what a great love he had for each and everyone us.

Kerry you will always hold a special place in my heart, I have the memories of your laughing, hollering, when you all would be in the garage playing pool,,but my greastest memory is when you went with our family to see the play "once to die" in 1976 and you went forward and accepted the LORD, so i know you are in heaven now and I bet Brenda was waiting at the gates with a cue stick, so I know you are with many loved ones and friends. Missed and loved by me, Frances Fountain, I will see you soon.

I cant tell you how many times I have heard Kerry holler oorah the old battle cry. And if their was a vet in the place (bar) they locked up and Kerry loved to hear the war stories and had great respect for what they did for our country. He has been and will be a hero in all of our hearts one way or another. We laughed , we fault and we ran the roads together (I will never forget Vegas lol) . He always said to me girl it's all about you. Well my friend, now it's all about you. You leave behind a wonderful son and many many wonderful friends. Till we meet again you are now in Gods hands save and sound.

Kerry, the last two weekends we spent at your house and on your porch solving all the world problems were priceless. We promised each other so that no matter what happened we would always keep in touch. We never made that trip to South Padre, the boat ride down the river, fishing in Louisiana or the trip to Chappell hill. However, we did have quality time together sitting on your porch and cherishing what means the most in our life...our family and the HPD family.
Until we meet again my brother I miss you and love you.

I was deeply sadden to hear of the passing of my life-long friend. I was so lucky to meet you, Kerry, when we moved into the Fallbrook neighborhood in 1975. What a blessing to say you are friends with someone for 37 years and though time would pass in between each time we saw each other again, it was as if time had never passed. You know you have a true friend when you can just pick up a conversation as if you had just talked to them. Some of our childhood memories were riding the school bus together and anxiously waiting to get off so we could buy an RC Cola and peanuts to eat as we walked home. Then it was several games of basketball before dinner every day, riding bicycles, and playing pool every Saturday night in our garage. BUT the most precious memory of all is you coming with me on July 5, 1976 to see the play, "Born Once to Die and After that the Judgment", God blessed me to be a part of you going forward and receiving Christ as your Savior. You were born again on the evening of July 5, 1976 to live for eternity with God and I will see you again in heaven one day. Thank You Jesus. I will cherish our many fond memories in the years to come.
