We had the beautiful pleasure of having Sr Muriel teach our daughter at St. Charles in pre K 3. It was such a difficult age to entrust such a small child to but Sr Muriel was very comforting when leaving our baby girl. She was so honest in her updates of her progress and our girl's lack of conformity to nap time! She was so sweet and patient and performed her calling with such joy. She came to know our family and was just as nurturing with our whole family as she was with my daughter, her student. Through the busyness of life, we lost contact but never, ever did we not think of sister. She touched our lives forever. The love she emitted through her gentle, nurturing, manner left a forever imprint of God's gift to us. Sister Muriel, I hope you know how much you touched our lives and made this world a better place the years you were here doing our Lord's will. We love you!

Sister Muriel was my daughter's teacher at St. Charles and she just loved her. She was one of the nicest, most caring teachers that my children ever had. She always had snacks for them, taught them how to write their letters and name, and always did so with gentleness and a loving smile. Thank you God for giving her to us for those years. We lost an angel with her passing.

i worked with sister muriel at st charles school in the 90's when i was the school secretary, and have known her as a family friend for years. she was always thinking first and foremost of the children she cared for, and they all loved her. once sister muriel was told that students without snack money would go without snack to teach the parents a lesson, instead, sister muriel went to sams and purchased gold fish and teddy grahams and juice boxes and gave the children snacks in their classroom! she told me when i asked her about it that she did not obey rules by school order, that HER orders came from god and feeding children was her duty. i never forgot her for that, because other teachers did not have the courage to do this until sister muriel did. she told wonderful stories about ireland, and she loved children. she will be very missed and has earned her reward in heaven!

Oh, Sister, how much have we missed your smiling face and presence at St. Charles! Although you were a PK teacher, you taught us all so much what a true disciple of Christ really is, always with a smile and a loving heart for everyone. What a joyful day in heaven when you arrived, but a sad one for us. You will forever be in our hearts and prayers and please remember us in yours. Thank you, God, for Sr. Muriel, our happy warrior for you here on earth and now one for you in Heaven.

I know the Lord called Sister Muriel up to heaven on February 14th, because she was one of His sweethearts! When she taught my son in first grade at St. Charles back in 1986, i will never forget how when praying the rosary, he would pray it with an Irish accent. In the 30+ years I have know her, she always a fine example of what it means to be a servant of the gospel, with her love and compassion for all. I truly believe we have another angel in heaven! May she forever rest in peace in the loving arms of Our Savior!
