1937-2015
Charlotte Burkett Hackler was born September 27, 1937 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Robert Edward and Zepha Walker Burkett. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, best friend and travel partner for life, Norman Hackler - September 14, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Anita Burkett Hernandez and her parents Robert and Zepha Burkett. She leaves to mourn her children: Alan Hackler married to Lisa Hackler, Lee Ann Mac Donald married to Thomas Mac Donald and Linda De Shazer married to Michael De Shazer; Grandchildren: Joshua Farrell, April Farrell Britton, Jordan De Shazer Gonzalez, Shawn De Shazer, Hannah De Shazer, Hope De Shazer, and Mitchell De Shazer. Charlotte and Norman were active members of The Huntwick Racquet Club and Champions Golf Club. A private interment will be held at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, California on Friday, April 10, 2015. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the name of Charlotte Hackler to The Nance National Alzheimer's Foundation, P. O. Box 4384, Houston, Texas 77210-4384.

Your Mom was the epitome of grace and kindness. When my husband, Joe, and I would go to have your Dad do our taxes, both of our sons would stay with her in the living room. They would show her how their Transformers worked, and she was always so amazed! She, along with your Dad, were truly the sweetest couple. We always looked forward to our once a year meeting with them. I know you must miss them both terribly.

Alan, Lee Ann, Linda and families, I was saddened to hear of Charlotte's passing. She was a wonderful person and so lucky to have all of you to help her through the last several years. I am happy that I was able to see her when I was at Linda's not too long ago. My thoughts are with all of you.

So sorry to hear of your loss. The Ivy families always enjoyed Charlotte & her antics. Even though I only knew her a short time she will be missed.
