Mary Kay Huntington
1932-2015
Mary Kay Huntington was born October 20, 1932 in Pasadena, CA and passed away at home in Houston on April 5, 2015. Mary Kay led an adventurous life, touring the world playing tennis in the 1950s—including an appearance at Wimbledon—and was an accomplished sailor, painter, gardener and designer. She worked for many years as a draftsman for Mosbacher Energy and Cambe Maps. She was active in the Big Thicket Conservation Association, and built her dream retreat on Turkey Creek outside of Woodville, TX. Mary Kay is survived by her three children, John Eric Shlaudeman and wife Connie, Sarah Duck Loudermilk and husband John, Lydia Duck Dissly and husband Richard and grandchildren Ricki Lee, Hunter, Laura and Caroline. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

Sarah,

I'm really shocked to hear of this. I tried to call just to talk and the number
was no more. I found this on the internet.

Please know how much I liked her and enjoyed her friendship. I'm just so
sorry about this.

Dear Eric, Sarah, and Lydia,
What a lovely obituary for your mother today in the Chronicle. I am sorry to hear that she passed, but she had a long and full life. I remember her so well at the Bay---driving the little MGB, raising you all at the house in La Porte, and building the place in Woodville. I remember her excellent sense of style and a certain wonderful piece of jewelry she had---an Indian necklace with a thunderbird pendant. She wore it with an off-white muslim tunic, so simple and perfect, it has never left my impressions of her. I remember her being probably the first working single mom I knew, and how she would come home from Mosbacher (the map lady, she called herself) and sit outside in the bay breeze with a glass of white wine. One of the most impressive things was starting to build the house in Woodville. I never knew how it turned out, but I helped with the footing several times, which I think she was trying to do from a plan in something like Better Homes and Gardens. It was quite a crazy undertaking and probably didn't work, but I am glad to see from the obituary that the dream home was eventually achieved.

Love to you all,
Sarah Sullivan Terrell
