Dear Mike, you are one of a million! Your smile, you zest for life, you made me feel special when we hung out, driving in that boat sized car. Your smile was amazing! I shall never forget that red convertible, singing to Stevie Wonder & you being such a gentleman. You introduced me to your parents & your mom's love of Coca-Cola memorabilia. God bless your soul and God's blessings on your famy. Till we meet again, dear friend❤

Michael..."Leggs"! You have left us too soon my friend. I loved to listen and watch you play the piano. You played from your heart, always had a smile and a warm hug for everyone. We both played keys at Gateway and loved that we shared the same birthday. Daddy God, I pray that you will wrap your arms of love and peace around this family...hold them tightly as they grieve the loss of their son, dad, brother, uncle...You will be missed my friend. Someday, we'll "tickle the ivories" together again. The peace of Christ....

Goodbye My Friend
by Mark Lecuona

When today can only be yesterday
Tomorrow must accept its lonely fate
For the memories we will inside
Will make the rising sun hide and wait

What is important to us is no longer to you
A story without an ending is what we hope for
But to those looking for another page
The loss of your love was why we wanted more

Were you looking for something
Or is it what you have now found within?
The shock of you is the reason
And the loss of you is where we begin

Something we always knew will always be
You are now the one we will miss
When you weren't around we felt it
And that is why it was you we could never resist

You are human and that is now our story
To be admired for being more than us
And to know what it is like to be gone
Is why we ask God if it is his will we can trust

There will be too many days and nights
When expectation feels no earthly end
For the dreams that walk by our side
Are the longing past we wish to see again

RIP Michael... we spent time together at Trinity and I remember you very well...

I knew Mike from High School choir. He was a senior and I a sophomore. I can say that he was the coolest, best looking guy in the room and as talented as anyone. Even so, he was also nice, even to awkward goofballs such as myself. I can see that he retained his looks and his love of singing. I have no doubt that he retained his basic friendliness to all as well. He has left too soon, but not without the legacy of his three children. I am sure at least one of them loves to sing like dad. The true measure of a person is the way they will be remembered by the people they touched. Mike brought happiness to every person I ever saw him engage. Funny, smart and most of all kind. We all mourn the passing a great friend. Goodbye Mike, thank you for all the smiles.

..we had a puppet ministry at Memorial Church of Christ in high school and over those several years I saw Mike create smiles and laughter on the faces of some of the most severly challenged young and old people through his character "grandpa". Kids at VBS used to idolize him and these are the great memories I will have of Mike. My sympathy is with Maurine and Richard plus the others of Mike's family; RIP mikey..
