Funeral services for Hollis Leon Walters, 86, of Boerne, Texas, a former banker in Houston, will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

I worked with Hollis in a commercial bank in from the late 70s until mid 80s and then again in the early 2000s. He was a kind, fair and compassionate coworker who always showed respect, compassion and dignity toward all he met. Although quiet by nature, he spoke much through his actions.
Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I worked with Hollis in the late 70s and early 80s as well as again in the early 2000s when we were both at the same bank. He was a consummate gentleman, fair and treated everyone with respect, courtesy and dignity. In his quiet way, he said alot.

We,
the children
and we are all
the children,
will no doubt drive
until July twenty-five ripples in the distance
like a sun-sharp reflection pooling on a blacktop
as it passes through the blue-green shades of summer.
And
whenever we recall
an amber dirt road among dusty pines
as it twists behind us
trailing away from the pasture of a family graveyard
- the cornerstone of our own eternity
we
will remember
that we did not leave you stranded and alone
but instead at home once again
cradled in the loving arms of those who came before us,
those who also stopped to rest,
to rejoice and gather at last,
after passing through their own blue-green shades
on this blacktop
of life.
