Joy Llorens Obituary
1975-2017
Joy Lisette Plummer Llorens, 41, passed away on February 22, 2017. Joy is survived by: her daughter, Ryan Ann Llorens; son, Hayden James Llorens; father, Willman Plummer Sr.; sister and brother-in-law, Leah Rene and Bernard Lorenzo Bynum III; nephew, Stephen Paul Bynum; niece, Belani Rose Bynum; 2 paternal aunts and uncles; 4 maternal aunts and 1 uncle; life-long friend, Terri Perez; multitudes of cousins, in-laws, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Ann Plummer; her brother, Willman James "Jim" Plummer Jr.; grandparents, Leah and Raney Plummer; grandparents, Eunice and Alonzo Yelling Sr.; 2 aunts; 9 uncles; great-aunts and uncles; cousins; and close family friends.
Joy was born to Ann and Willman Plummer Sr. in Houston, TX on September 8, 1975. She received her B.A. in Journalism from Texas A&M University and her M.Ed. in Library Sciences from Sam Houston State University. She recently retired from a librarian position at Carver High School.
Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., Houston, Texas 77018 with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will then be at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.

Bill, Ryan, Hayden, Leah, and the entire family of Joy Plummer,
I was so saddened to hear about Joy. It made me relive once again the loss of my friend Ann. I remember first meeting Joy when Ann brought her to work. I knew then she had a special light within her. I will remember the last time I physically saw her in Houston at PF Changs and her smile lit up the room. It's been over 15 years since I left a Texas, yet she remained a fond memory forever in my heart.
May you all feel the peace of the Lord in your hearts and may her memory sustain you in your grief. God Bless all of you.

I am so devastated to know of Joy's passing. I didn't know her married name, and did not know who I was viewing when I saw her at St Rose. I would have stayed for the service. I will keep praying for Joy and her family.

I was saddened to read of the passing of Joy in the St. Rose of Lima church bulletin. I was her Spanish teacher at Black Middle School in the late 1980's, and she was a delightful student to teach. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

Joy will forever be remembered. It was Joy's love and patience with children that got my son comfortable with water. Joy kept working with him even though he screamed in the water. Now, he is a competitive swimmer... That was Joy!!!

Joy had my heart when she was four(4) years old. I was her mother's best friend. Bill and (the late Ann) are my daughter's Godparents. Joy, such a beautiful strong spirit, my life was blessed to have crossed paths with yours. So many good times were spent talking about our families, friends, and faith.
