Kay Knox Obituary

February 25, 1938 – June 25, 2016 Kay Hardy Knox, 78, of Huntsville, passed from this life into the joyful presence of her Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born in New Albany, Mississippi to Lester and Troy Hardy. She graduated from the School of Nursing at the University of Tennessee and practiced as a Registered Nurse in both Tennessee and Alabama. She had a passion for children and devoted most of her professional life to pediatric nursing. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Huntsville had been her home since 1965. Although stricken with chronic illness, she inspired her family and friends with her strong faith, courage and attitude. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. George E. Knox; son, George E. Knox, Jr, and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Natalie, Nick and Billy; and sister, Anita Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents and her elder sister, Carolyn Hulsey. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Willowbrook Baptist Church, 7625 Bailey Cove Rd., Huntsville, with the funeral service following at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. George and Kay were members of Calvary Bible Church form 1972-1999 and many people here still remember and love them.
