Following college he and Darlyene moved to Staples, Minn., where they pastored the Nazarene Church for a year. They then moved to Kansas City, Mo., to attend Nazarene theological seminary. Tom was an active member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene where he sang in the church choir for several years. He and Darlyene were active in ROAM (RV'rs On A Mission) and members of the King's Travelers. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home.
Tom's passions in life were spending time with his wife and family, listening to music, cooking, reading, studying, and golfing until his health became such that he could no longer enjoy that hobby.
