James Chadd Obituary

James "Jim" Chadd was "one hell of a man," a good husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who was taken from us on July 21, 2011. Jim was born in Lodi, Nebraska on October 7, 1922 to Ira and Agnes Chadd. In the early 1930's Jim and his family moved from Nebraska to Nyssa, Oregon where he finished his schooling. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in England with the "Almighty 8th," spending his time in the nose of a B-17 Bomber. After his time in the service he came back to his farm in Nyssa. In 1947 he married Leola Didericksen and they expanded their family to 5 with the birth of Linda, Bruce and Ross. They settled in Caldwell in 1954 where Jim drove truck for 30 years. His wife, Leola, passed away in 1990. The next great adventure of his life began when he married Ione Cleaver. They spent their time in a 5th wheel trailer, wintering in Arizona and summering where ever they parked the trailer and square dancing everywhere they went. After Ione passed away, Jim settled in Nampa where he enjoyed square dancing, fishing and watching his great grandchildren's sports events. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Leola and Ione and his sisters Lucille and Donna. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Carson of Nampa, his son Bruce (Trenna/TJ) Chadd of Meridian, his son Ross (Ula) Chadd of Caldwell, his grandchildren Lorie Williard, Jeff Chadd, Bryan Chadd, Kelly Chadd, and Kerri Chadd as well as 8 great grandchildren with another on the way. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who took part in his care. A special thank-you to XL Hospice who helped to make the last few days of his life comfortable. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that you make a donation in Jim's name to your favorite charity. Graveside Memorial Services for Jim will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Following the services, a potluck will be held at the Luby Park Gazebo. Services are under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho. www.cremationsociety-idaho.com
