Colby Jason Solomon

On December 22, 2012, Colby Jason Solomon put 'er up on the fence and gave it all he had. Now he is railin' around the Golden Speedway in the sky after a brief illness at the age of 35 in Clovis California.
Colby was born on May 16, 1977 to Gary and Sherry (Roth) Solomon in Caldwell, Idaho.
Following in his father and grandfathers footsteps, Colby started his racing career at the age of 9 beginning with gokarts moving on micro midgets and outlaw karts. Many times Colby raced against his older brother Rob, which at times was a show in itself. After that Colby realized that dirt was for racing and asphalt was for getting there.
In the spring of 1995 he graduated from Caldwell High School.
As Colby raced his way through his young life he also worked hard at every job he had. Around 2003 Colby was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Like pioneers of the Midwest Colby and his brother Rob packed up all of their belonging and headed to the sunshine state, California to work for PMP Chassis fabricating micro sprint cars. In 2006 Colby started working for Dan Olson Racing Products in Fresno as a welder and fabricator.
On January 22, 2009 Colby met the love of his life, Cassie Kay White. Shortly after meeting they became inseparable and planned on spending the rest of their lives together with a wedding set for September 21, 2013.
He loved spending time outdoors trap shooting, fishing, hunting and racing anything on dirt.
Colby was truly a special person and loved by all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a hand when needed never asking for anything in return. Almost to a fault he was so generous. His character was an inspiration to so many.
Colby is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Cassie Kay of Clovis, CA; his parents Gary Solomon (Denise Collingham) of Nampa, ID and Sherry (Mark) Binyon of Nampa, ID. His brother Rob Solomon (Teresa Pombo) of Fresno, CA; sister Stephanie Johnson of Nampa, ID; sister Jeannie Binyon; step-sister Kasey Cruce; grandparents John and Edna Roth; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his animals, dog Remington and Charlie and cat Bella.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jean and Doris Solomon.
Interment was done at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell. A Celebration of Life and service will be held at 2:00-7:00 p.m. January 16, 2013 at the Caldwell Elks located at 1015 N Kimball Ave. Caldwell, ID 83605. All friends and family welcome.
