Janet Vanderford
CHUBBUCK - Janet Vanderford, 93, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Ridgewind Residence in Chubbuck, Idaho, where she resided for the last month.
Janet was born on October 16, 1916, in Mason City, Iowa, the second oldest daughter of Floyd R. Reed and Madeline Bohm Reed. The family moved to American Falls, Idaho, where Janet graduated from American Falls High School.
Janet married Donald Vanderford on August 8, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They resided and raised a family in parts of Oregon and Aberdeen, Idaho.
Janet enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, sewing, painting, playing cards, bowling, and entertaining at her cabin in Island Park.
Janet is survived by son, Jerry (Julie) Vanderford of Beaverton, Oregon; daughter, Donna (Keith) Phillips of American Falls, Idaho; daughter, Bonnie (Lyle) Armstrong of Boise, Idaho; son, Tom (Linda) Vanderford of Chubbuck, Idaho; son, Richard (Virginia) Vanderford of Sherwood, Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lenore Lind of American Falls, Idaho, and Madeline Lind of Omaha, Nebraska.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; sisters, Doris Johnson and Betty Kress; brothers, Richard, Jim and Ted Reed; and a granddaughter, Linda Marie Vanderford.
There will be a viewing at Davis Rose Mortuary in American Falls at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Williams, the staff at Spring Creek Manor, Harms Memorial staff, RidgeWind Residence and Hospice Alliance for their patient and loving care of our mother and grandmother.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Rose Mortuary in American Falls, Idaho.
