Tim Crane Obituary

Tim Crane
BENNINGTON - Timothy William Crane, 66, beloved father, husband, and son, passed away at his home Tuesday September 27, 2011, after a long, valiant battle with cancer.
Tim was born January 5, 1945, son of William and Lula Robison Crane, in Montpelier, Idaho. He grew up in Bennington, Idaho, where he attended and graduated from local schools. He served an LDS mission in Virginia and North Carolina.
He attended Ricks College, where he met the love of his life, Marilyn Garrett, of Star Valley, Wyoming. They were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 18, 1968. Tim and Marilyn established their home at the family ranch north of Bennington, where he built their beautiful log home and raised eight children.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and "papa." He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He also loved spending time in his garden, orchard, and in the mountains, especially Pine Canyon on his father's homestead. He spent countless hours with his wife beside him. He enjoyed building log furniture, country music, collecting antiques, snowmobiling, hunting, ranching, and a good steak dinner. He was well known as being patient, soft-spoken, hard working, optimistic, generous, kind, and humble.
He was employed for 32 years at Beker, Nu-West, and Agrium. In his early years, he operated his own custom hay hauling business. He was one of the first in the valley to own a bale wagon.
He actively served as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Tim is survived by his wife Marilyn, Bennington; four sons, Shane (Missy), Boise Idaho, Lance (Misty), Bennington, Idaho, Brett, SLC, Utah, Bryce (Laurie), Bennington, Idaho; three daughters, Julie (Roman), Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tami (Trevor), Pleasant View, Utah, Kelli (Quincy), Logan, Utah; and daughter-in-law, Cari Crane. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three brothers, and five sisters. He is preceded in death by his son, Kacey, his parents, and sister, Karen Miller.
Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011, at noon at the Bennington LDS Chapel. The viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennington church and on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be held in the Bennington Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.simsfh.com.
