Lance Hitt Obituary

Lance Lowery Hitt
Lance was born April 5, 1956 in Boise, Idaho. He attended Cole Elementary, Fairmont Jr High, and graduated from Capital High School. He was trained as a heavy equipment operator working for Das-Co and Trac Uiiis.
Lance loved life and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. In the cooler months he spent many hours in his shop working and modifying his motorcycles with the woodstove and music blasting. His favorite time of year was when the weather got warmer, starting up his bike and planning rides either solo or with close friends. He was a true enthusiast.
Lance will be remembered for his quick wit and a gift with words. From funny one-liners to beautiful philosophical statements that would make one stop and think. Lance was known as Big Lance, Tarzan, The Hittster, and called by more than one girl, Lance Romance. He loved music and pulled some great moves on the dance floor. Lance was bigger than life, a glorious human being, and will be sorrowfully missed.
He is survived by his wife Dodie, father Wally, and sisters Michele and Becky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, November 21st, Between the hours of 5:30 and 8:30 at the Basque Center 601 W Grove St.

I never seen u fold
A strong man knows how to hold his life in order. Even with tears in his eyes, he can still say 'I'm fine' with a smile. I'll send it to you because you're a strong man. That's why God heard your prayers and said the hard times are over.
My bro forever rest in peace you will always be remembered for your good heart on this earth

Lance was always smiling and happy I went to high school with him and was at quite a few party's with him. I was married when he was still in high school and all kinds of high school friends came over to our rental and converted the garage into a party pad for all to enjoy and enjoy they did. I am so sorry this happened and wish his wife and family the best. May god bless everyone that was touched by Hi life.

Lance and myself went to school together and rode together. He would yell at me in school and I would say what did I do to you / He would say nothing yet. Lance you will be missed my friend and I will see you on the other side of the curtain some day.

Sue and Carl Davis at Boise Cycle have many memories with Lance and they all make us smile or laugh or shake our head. I remember him saying this many times "I Fought the Law and the Law Won." So many good times on our Harley's with friends past and present. We are sure you are with Doug Herndon and Fred Opolski now. Rest In Peace Hittsey.

I met Lance in 1979 or 1980. He ran around with a group I called the Animals because he and others would hang around my neighbor's house (he ended up moving into that house) and it reminded me of Animal House. He was young, good looking and fun to be around. He was smarter than he let on, and would surprise me with his quick wit and summation of how he viewed all things considered. It was one of the best summers and the last before our paths took us in a different direction. I would run into him occasionally and he would always bow to me and kiss my hand like a knight in leather armor. He was big in stature but could be such a gentle man. My condolences to his family and all those that loved him.

I was a classmate with Lance at Fairmont JHS and Capital HS. During high school he was struggling with his grades and I tutored him with a few of his classes. I was being bullied in the hallway one day and from out of nowhere came Big Lance Hitt. There was no more bullies after that.He was my " hero " throughout high school...RIP BIG BROTHER!
