Richard Parker Obituary

Richard "Dick" Warren Parker
1925 - 2014
Richard Warren Parker was born January 29, 1925 to Rebecca Bonwell and Warren S. Parker in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dick graduated from Boise High School in 1943 and attended Boise Junior College where he was student body president in 1945. He furthered his education at Idaho State College where, once again, he was student body president in 1947.
Richard married Amy Irene Rigsby on September 4, 1955.
Dick loved everyone and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His signature handlebar mustache further endeared him to his many customers at Skaggs Payless Drugstores and other pharmacies throughout the valley.
He shared his love of chess with his children and grandchildren who will always remember him as a master of the game! An avid rockhound, he was a member of the Gem Society for many years. Dick was also a football fan, especially of the BSU Broncos!
Richard is survived by his sister, Marilyn Williams, Boise; daughters, Laura Hadley, Nampa, Mary Hernandez, Boise, and Rebecca (Lyone) Overlin, Twin Falls; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Irene, and his son, Robert.
See you in paradise, dad! We love you.
Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful providers at Treasure Valley Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held for Dick at 1 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Lutheran Bretheren Church, Nampa. To share memories, visit Richard's memorial webpage online www.Cloverdalefuneralhome.com.

Mary & family,

I just now read your father's obituary. You must miss him so much. I remember seeing him in Skaggs Karcher Mall when I was a teen in Nampa. Very nice and friendly man. Pharmacists will always hold a special place in all our hearts.
Big hugs to you Mary.
