Jack Day Obituary
1923 - 2015
Jack Edward Day of Boise, Idaho, died December 5, 2015, at the age of 92, in Richland, Washington, with his family at his side.
Jack was born June 4, 1923, to Ainsworth and Mina Day, in Spokane, Washington.
Jack enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943 as a Sergeant, and participated in the Pacific Theater of Operations of World War II.
Jack met Jaine after his military service concluded, while he was visiting his parents in Paradise, Montana. They were married in Missoula, Montana, on December 14, 1946. Jack passed away just a few days before their 69th wedding anniversary.
Jack was a life-long automobile enthusiast and owned and managed automobile dealerships in Utah, Montana, Oregon, and Idaho, until retiring at age 76.
Jack and Jaine loved living in Boise, Idaho, "Where the people are friendly, and it was fun to see someone you knew when you walked down the street."
Jack and Jaine have been lifelong members of the United Methodist Church, and attended the Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise for over 48 years.
Jack was preceded in death by his son, Robert A. Day, and is survived by his wife, Jaine Day, his son, Jeff Day, his grandchildren Chris and Matt Day, and his great-grandchildren, Chloe and Liam Day.
The time, date and place of services are yet to be determined. Jack will be laid to rest at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.

I worked for Jack day in Boise, when he owned Jack day auto on State street..jack will always be in my memories as a wonderful boss, and friend, I learned so much from him, his support and guidance when my husband died was something I will never forget, I hope Jack's family reads this and knows how many lives Jack touched and find memories I hold in my heart forever..sara Kirby formerly Sara ault-harris

I first met Jack in the 80's when I purchased a car from him. A few months later the engine threw a rod. I called and told Jack I would need to purchase another car from him, and when he heard the details, he had another engine put in the car previously purchased at no charge.
Some years after that, Jack leased ground from our family and started another car lot on State Street, where I worked for him as a mechanic while finishing college. I observed his actions with his customers, and Jack was truly the only
honest car dealer I have ever known. I look forward to seeing you again, Jack.
