Governor Andrus was the last real leader of Idaho. A gentleman always and an example to all. Godspeed Governor.

Cecil had a profound impact on my life. I first met him when I was 14, as he was awarding me a student of the year award. Ten plus years later, I was with a group of employers around the State that engaged him on an issue we were concerned about. When I went into his office, as part of a throng of people, I was blown away by his remembering my name and his having a brief discussion with me about, what was new in Orofino, as he knew I was from there.
From that day forward, I personally found him to be in a class by himself when compared to those who have followed him as the leader of our great State.
As a citizen of Idaho I found him be approachable and genuine. He was a rare gem and he will be missed.

Am so sorry about Gov. Andrus passing away. I agree "make America greater", make another Gov. (President) Cecil Andres. He was one in a million. My prayers are with the people of Idaho in the loss of a great and good governor.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carol and his family at this sad time.

He was -- and forever will be -- a towering figure in the history of Idaho and the American West. He combined uncommon wisdom with common sense and the common touch.
