Katherine Hosmer Obituary

Katherine E.
(Ciotti) Hosmer
Age 82 of Paris, passed away Jan. 15, 2011 at her home. She was born Dec. 6, 1928, in
Dillonvale, Ohio, the daughter of the late Adam and Rosina (Silvero) Ciotti. Katherine taught for the Minerva Local School District and received her Master's Degree in Education at the age of 61 proving you're never too old to learn. Upon her retirement, she tutored for Rodman library's literacy program. Katherine attended Paris Israel Church.
Katherine is survived by her son, David Hosmer of Paris; three daughters, Carol (Michael) Morgan of Paris, Rose (Greg) Wade of Paris and Diana (David) Cowden of Santee, SC; brother-in-law, John G. Callahan; sister-in-law, Clarice Ciotti; grandchildren: Scott Haws, Laila Hummel, Jason (Erin) Haws, Heather (Mike) Hosmer, Kim (Doug) Schneider and Michelle (Aaron) Speakman; great-grandchildren: Adrian, Brenden, Ian, Ellianna, Emma, Wyatt, Weston, Tyce, Christian, Cameron and Isabella; and beloved cat, Smokey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Hosmer; brother, Joseph Ciotti; and twin sister, Louise Schide.
Funeral services for Katherine will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Allan Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Katherine's family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to offer their special thanks to Anita and Karen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice Care, 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, Ohio 44708 or Paris Israel Church, P.O. Box 99, Paris, Ohio 44669.

I enjoyed working with Katherine for many years at Mary Irene Day Elementary. She was always pleasant, had a nice smile and wanted the best for her students. I taught vocal music and appreciated her support of the arts program. My husband and I send our sympathies.
