Rodney Stutler Obituary

Rodney K. ‘Rod' Stutler
55, of Perry Township, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at his residence. Rod was born on Feb. 9, 1958 in Canton the son of Roger K. (Sonia) Stutler and Joanne (Beitler) Stutler. Rod was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1976 graduate of Lehman High School. Upon graduating from high school he attended Malone University where he received his B.A. degree. Rod was Regional Vice President of Corporate Accounts for Gurtler Industries based in South Holland, Ill. He enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with his family and following his children's sports activities. He was a member of Canton Baptist Temple. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brennard and Annalee Stutler and his aunt, Barbara Stutler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Butzer) Stutler whom he shared 27 years of marriage on May 30, 1987; his children, Ryan M. Stutler and Lauren J. Stutler; his parents, Roger K. (Sonia) Stutler and Joanne Stutler; his brothers, Roger (Janet) Stutler, Jr. and Scott (Jenifer) Stutler; and his stepbrother, Steven (Melissa) McCauley. It was Rod's longtime wish to be an organ donor; however, due to his battle with throat cancer his body was unable to fulfill his wishes. In spite of this, Rod was able to donate his corneas to two individuals who will receive the gift of sight before Christmas.
A Celebration of Rod's life will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Jake Tovissi of Canton Baptist Temple will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Research and Education Foundation of the American Head and Neck Society, 11300 W. Olympic Boulevard, Ste. 600, Los Angeles, CA 90064 or www.ahnsfoundation.info/one-time-donation-form/. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.

Brenda, and Stutler Family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you, during this most difficult time.
I have known Rod since he was a little boy, he and my brother Michael, were best friends. He would walk to our house to pal around with Mike, and visit at my mother's house. He was also a customer at my Barber Shop. An avid Bulldogs fan, we went to the games with him, always a good time.
My family was shocked to hear the news. He was a kind man, and he will be truly missed by all who knew him, but never forgotten.
Brenda and family, Peace Be With You.
