February 17, 1919 - OCTOBER 10, 2009
ANDERSON, SC - Mr. Garvin "Andy" Andrews, age 90, husband of the late Frances Cobb Andrews, of 533 Fairmont Road, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Carnesville, GA, he was a son of the late Columbus William Andrews and Vira Elizabeth Elrod Andrews. Mr. Andrews was a WWII Army veteran and was a retired mechanic, having worked for Minyard Motors and Gates Firestone. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Survivors include his two sons, Danny and Larry Andrews of Anderson; two daughters, Judy Bussey of Anderson and Pat Martin of Rock Hill; four grandchildren, David Martin, Lisa Bussey, Brandi Andrews and Nickalas Andrews; four great-grandchildren, Brett, Chelsea, Michael and Justin Martin.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Andrews Ayers; a grandson, Michael Andrew "Andy" Martin; seven brothers and three sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Jeff Bartlett and Mike Davis. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Judy Bussey, 100 Hamilton Drive in Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

Peace & Love to all of you~
Uncle Garvin is in the arms of the angels now and may God Bless each of you during this time of sorrow.
I am Gartrell's daughter, Janis, living in Montgomery, AL. I just found out last night.
