CONNIE E. HILLHOUSE
JUNE 24, 1923 – NOVEMBER 27, 2010
ANDERSON, SC – Connie Esterline Hillhouse, age 87, of 219 Loblolly Drive, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.
Born in Jackson, MI, on June 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Esterline and Mabel Grover Esterline. She was formerly affiliated with J.M. Fields and served as a Poll Worker for many years. Mrs. Hillhouse was a charter member of Providence Baptist Church where she served actively as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Edward F. Hillhouse; daughter, Sharon Hillhouse McCullough of Litchfield, Pawley's Island, SC; son, Edward F. Hillhouse, Jr. and wife, Elva of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren: Allen McCullough and wife, Kelly of Saluda, NC, Ashley McCullough of Charleston, SC, Amanda Hillhouse of Atlanta, GA, and Rachel Hillhouse of Los Angeles, CA; two great grandchildren: Georgia McCullough and Lauren McCullough, both of Saluda, NC; brother, Roland Esterline of Battle Creek, MI; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Esterline and Elaine Esterline, both of MI; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Michael Kinard, the Reverend Michael King, and the Reverend Ed Sayer. Interment will follow in the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Owen McAlister.
Members of the Senior Sunday School Class as well as Deacons of Providence Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Providence Baptist Church, 4520 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
