I served under the Skipper on the USS Lofberg in the early 60s.. A true gentleman, great teacher and leader. Remember he and Nina invited the Officers to their home for dinner, There was a private bar with our names for each of us with our favorite drinks! First class as only Dick would do. He was a joy to serve under? God bless him. Tom Galinski, USNR. Member St. Mikes. Wheeling WV

We are all better men because of our time at McDuffie High School under the leadership of Cdr. Husty. I was a successful sailor because of his leadership and I am a better adult because of him. Rest well sir! We have the watch from here! Fair Winds and Following Seas
